Clean them up.

Wiping your rental boats down after every use is important. But being sure to clean them inside and out before storing them for the season is especially vital. Inspect the engine.

Flush, fill, pump, and spray.

In preparing your boats for storage be sure to flush out any bilge, the add in antifreeze to protect the parts and prevent cold-weather damage. Then take time to pump out the holding tank, and again, fill with antifreeze. You should spray down all the electronics’ connectors with a lubricant formulated to protect against corrosion.

Wrap or cover.

Unless you have a temperature-control space where your boats are protected from the elements as well as pests and rodents, you will need to be sure each boat has either a boat cover or is shrink-wrapped to protect it while not in use.

Detail them.

Don’t just wipe them down, take the time to have them completely detailed. Wax the hull, make any repairs to seat covers, add a protectant, and repair any knicks in the paint job.
