The guide to 0W-40 Synthetic AMSOIL

What happens if you lose your owner’s manual for your snowmobile or ATV and need to complete and oil change?  What should you buy for replacement oil? Do you just guess, scour browser results with conflicting answers on viscosity and brands, or just go with the one result that makes it simple?  AMSOIL has a 0W-40 Formula 4-Stroke Power Sports oil that can replace any manufacturer oil, no matter the viscosity recommendation.

Why 0W-40 AMSOIL Synthetic Can Fit Any Application

I know, it sounds crazy.  One oil that takes all the guess work out of which viscosity to buy?  It’s true though. AMSOIL has a synthetic oil that can cover a broad range of viscosities for any weather conditions and temperatures.  The key to the broad range is a wax-free formulation that allows it to work well in hot powersports applications while still being able to pour and flow at -60 degrees Fahrenheit.  It will perform well at allowing your engine to crank at low temperatures and warm up quickly without worrying of engine damage due to oil not flowing at cold temperatures.

What Other Benefits Are Available?

Beyond flowing at low temperatures and preventing breakdown at high temperatures, AMSOIL 0W-40 synthetic oil resists oxidation and vaporization which will keep your exhaust emissions low, reduce oil consumption, and prevent carbon build up and varnishing.  These items will keep your ATV or snowmobile running in top shape and reduce future maintenance requirements. That’s money and time saved in the future.

Can It Work for Transmissions Also?

While most may think the 0W-40 AMSOIL is just for engines, that’s not the case.  This synthetic oil is perfect for transmissions also. It meets JASO MA/MA2 and ISO L-EMA2 standards, and doesn’t contain any friction modifiers that can wear your clutches or transmission parts prematurely.  It’s perfect for two or four stroke ATVs and designed to transmit full power and torque for towing and off-trail riding.

Why Is It Better Than Conventional Oil?

This is one of the questions that is pretty commonly asked about AMSOIL synthetic oil.  Why is it better, and what makes it more cost effective for a synthetic oil change? The 0W-40 Formula synthetic oil has a high level of anti-wear additives that keep your transmission parts like gears and clutches cool and lubricated while also protecting pistons and bearings inside the engine.  That will keep your ATV or snowmobile running smoothly for a long time. Beyond great lubrication, the AMSOIL 0W-40 prevents foaming at high RPMs. That is a leading cause of oil breakdown at high RPMS that ATVs and snowmobiles see a lot.

Compatible Applications for AMSOIL 0W-40

There’s always a little skepticism with a one-size-fits-all application.  Can one oil fit all applications out there? Will it work in a Polaris and a Kawasaki?  Can it do well in a Can-Am as well as a Suzuki? The simple answer is ‘yes’. The AMSOIL 0W-40 synthetic oil will do well in all of them.  It contains dispersants and detergents that will help keep all engines and transmission clean while in use. It is recommended for four-stroke engines, and two or four stroke transmissions.  Kawasaki, Polaris, Can-Am, Honda, Yamaha, Ski-Doo, it doesn’t matter.

The 0W40 will keep them all running well. It will replace all-climate / all-season oils in viscosities 0W-30, 0W-40, 5W-30, 10W-30, and 10W-40.  One thing to keep in mind is that mixing AMSOIL synthetic with a conventional oil will reduce its life expectancy and performance benefits. You shouldn’t run extended drain periods with a blended mix. But, if you change from conventional to synthetic at an oil change, you should expect exceptional results from the full synthetic oil change.

Where Can I Buy 0W40 Synthetic Oil?
